Visitors are very welcome to come and make use of the shrine room for meditation or to offer dana to the Sangha. If you wish to offer food for the meal please try to phone in advance to make sure we are not away that day. It is also possible to stay for a time as a guest, see the Coming to Stay page.
If you have some practical skills that you would like to offer from time to time please let us know. It could be anything from gardening, driving, a building skill or some sort of professional advice.
All teaching, accommodation and food at Hartridge Monastery are freely offered by the Sangha (monastic community) and its friends. Donations and offerings of requisites are the only means of support for the community.
To enquire what food or other requisites are currently needed, please contact the monastery. As a rough guide, items we can regularly use include soya milk, fruit and vegetables, tahini and nut butters, nuts (except peanuts) and tinned tomatoes. We usually have a surplus of tea, coffee, sugar, rice, pasta, toilet roll, toothpaste and toothbrushes, soap, hand cleaner, shower gel, washing-up liquid, light bulbs and paracetamol. Please do not bring bottled water as we have our own well water.
Donations may be placed in the donations box or given to a novice. Cheques can be made payable to ‘Hartridge Buddhist Monastery Trust’, a Registered Charity (No. 1142439). Or to make a donation online, the Trust's account details at Co-op Bank are -
